I attended the Joyce Myers Conference in St. Louis and heard Pricilla Shirer speak. She told us a little story that I thought was worth sharing.
There was an artist who carved a stallion from stone. The stone stallion was marvelous and perfect in every way. Everyone marveled at the details of perfection and how it looked so real. A person walked up to the artist and said, “How do you get so precise details when you carve the stone…?” The artist replied, “I chip away everything that doesn’t look like a stallion”.
Although a simple answer, the answer is so profound. As Christians, this is exactly what the Holy Spirit does for us. The Spirit continues to chip away the excess of what doesn’t look like Jesus. One day we will stand without spot and blemish designed and carved by the Master Artist!
Challenge of the day: What part of you needs to be chipped away? Make a change today and let God take over that part of your life that you may be holding on to.
