Someone asked me the other day what my favorite season was and I told them fall. I love taking walks as the leaves are falling, the beautiful colors and the cool weather. Here in Kentucky it is like Jesus has painted a masterpiece landscape containing every color he has ever created. Fall is also harvest time around here. Just in the last few weeks we have started on a building project at PromiseLand. Our church is right in the middle of a bean field or corn field depending on which one is planted for the season and is surrounded by farmland. As I was reading this morning I was reminded that if you sow, you will reap. Also, although you start out small, and if you continue to water, nurture and plow, you will reap.
26Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. 27Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. 28The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 29And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.” 30Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? 31It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, 32but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade.”
Where ever you are in your life right now, God will open the door to your future if you get gut honest with yourself and sow into His word, His love, His life, His character and His will then my friend you will reap His promises. Sow today and wait for the great harvest!
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for blessing us and preparing us to reap for your Kingdom. Continue to give us favor, love and wisdom in leading others, your direction all for your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.
