Encouragement, Salvation

Drink The Water

This past Sunday we gave a bottle of water to every person who walked through the door of PromiseLand.  This month we are focused on giving back to the church and giving to our community.  This Coming sunday will be fruit.  Sunglasses will be given out at the end of the month at least that is the plan.  It is all about giving.  Giving is a form of sowing.  When a farmer plants one grain of corn in return when harvest comes he reaps more than just one ear of corn.  He is blessed by planting and taking care of his crop until it is ready.  He reaps what he sows.  It is a principle of giving.  You only reap what is sown.  Give none, reap none.  Give little, reap little.  Give much, reap much.  At PromiseLand, we want to take care of the crop that Jesus has allowed us to oversee.  We feed, water and watch the harvest bloom and expand our giving. Lives are changed through unity in Christ and sharing His love among many.  He alone changes our heart to serve and to become more like Him.

The water was not just to cool off the day and be able to drink during service but symbolic to who Jesus is.  He alone has the ability to give to us where we will never thirst again.  So the next time you drink a bottle of water, just remember who your water comes from or who you need to give a drink to, give to the thirsty and let Jesus quench your thirst.

New Living Translation (©2007) John 4:14, John 7:37
But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.  Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

Prayer:  Lord, I praise you alone for your giving in all things, so we in turn may give to others.  Your water is refreshing, is trusting, is love, is our resource for living.  Thank you Jesus for your water in which you give us so we may live and never thirst again.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
