Born With A Silver Spoon

Have you ever had anyone to say this, “He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth”.  It is usually used as a term to say you get what you want, you are spoiled or everything good comes your way.  Some people say, It means that one was born into a wealthy and influential family and was therefore able to enjoy privileges and advantages that only the wealthy can enjoy.  However, research shows that people have certain traits intertwined in them to attract the positive.  So how do we attract the positive side and get a silver spoon?

People who have the silver spoon have an extraordinary ability to persist in the face of adversity. They are teachable.  They are social.  They are happy and people want to be around them.  Their determination to push forward no matter what obstacles stand in their way naturally exposes them to a greater array of opportunities that often reveal themselves the further they are able to push through the challenges in their lives.  They are fully committed and disciplined to set and follow through with goals.  This discipline enables them to focus wholeheartedly on the tasks at hand, allowing them to block out all distractions and spot potential opportunities that may suddenly come their way.  They are optimistic by nature. They fully understand that optimism enables them to identify solutions and answers where pessimists only see problems and heartache.  People who give to others without any hidden ulterior motives show humbleness. Their generosity naturally gains people’s respect and admiration, and as a result they are more likely to receive the support and assistance they need to achieve their personal goals and objectives. This humble demeanor naturally widens their perspectives, enabling them to focus outwards outside of themselves, allowing them to spot opportunities that other people would miss because of their inwardly directed energies.  People view failures as only set backs and therefore do not dwell on the past.  They look forward to the future.

So let us do something about it in our lives!  It deals with change.  Do we set around, point fingers and ridicule those who are blessed?  No, we go out there change our attitude and become the person God wants us to be.  We move forward and hope for the future.  How do we get “born” with a silver spoon in our mouth?  Be born again into the family of God, become one of God’s children, let Jesus pass on the character and traits of one who resides as King, one who overcomes and one who gives and receives blessings of the Father.  With that in mind, display your spoon to the world so they too can have what you have, show and lead them the way to a better life.

Prayer:  Lord, I pray today that others will obtain and know what it is like to be blessed, not just wonder if it is for them too, but know truly in their heart that you want the best for them.  Continue to teach us daily.  We love you.  In Jesus Name. Amen.

For at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
