Computers and cyberspace, Oh the information you can stumble on! It really frustrates me when I get all this spam that seems really like a true blog and then with one click a scene flashes before your eyes. It makes me so upset at the content some bloggers post. I do believe in free speech and I am a photographer who appreciates the beauty of the human being but however, don’t invade my privacy by flashing everything especially to draw you in to so-called reading material. I was a doctor’s assistant for years and as I worked in many departments so I have seen many people on tables who needed help with health related issues. The human body is wonderfully made and it is so disgusting that anyone would want to dishonor God by using it with porn. Yes, it is real and yes I know it is a part of life that many people have to deal with.
In my counseling training, I found some very interesting stats when it came to viewing porn. If we want to just be real, it is a growing issue among the general public and it has been around for many years. If you can think back, many times in our past we were exposed to this issue at a very early age. Today it destroys lives and marriages. Just google the stats of how many men and women are addicted or view pornography in the last month, the rate is very high even among us Christians. It is born as a seed of lust and holds the captive bound in a world of lies and fantasy. I have counseled with several families who struggle with this issue and then we want to act like it doesn’t affect the Christian community when it does. Viewing sexual content can really warp a prospective on how God made the beauty of intimacy between a husband and wife thus creates a stronghold in marriages.
Since the internet has come into so many households, sexual content or for ‘mature audiences’ is a crime wave we cannot prevent. However if we seek help with this issue when we know there can be addictions linked to it, we must do everything we can to educate ourselves, our children and our eyes from contaminating our mind with images that are not so easily erased.
Prayer: Lord you have made everything beautiful. I know who the enemy of our soul is, and I know his vulgar thoughts and ways to try to capture us. I pray that people who are a part of this sinful lifestyle will be enlightened by your ways, I pray your Spirit will go forth and move upon their lives. Draw them with your Spirit unto a relationship with you. Send them Godly Christian men and women to be a part of their lives to help them conquer these strongholds. I also pray for all the marriages who continue to deal and fight this battle of addiction. In Jesus Name.
Ephesians 1:18 New International Version (©1984)
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints….
