Getting Drunk

getting-drunkI know what some may be thinking.  Pastor’s wife writing about getting drunk what is the world coming to?  It makes a great story, so please read on about my experience.  I get drunk quiet often and wish to stay drunk most of the time however I must function in this world called reality.  I am not ashamed of this new wine because it brings me satisfaction and I don’t have a hangover or any regrets.

There is nothing like the presence of the Most High.  It is during this experience you create intimacy with your creator, with your God, with your heavenly father, with your groom, with your love.  It is a feeling of floating or conquering the world.  It is breathing in His Spirit and allowing Him to move through your entire body, soul and mind.  Being in His presence is tapping into another dimension this world has ever known.  We use terms like getting drunk in the Spirit, whacked, plastered or slain out in the Holy Ghost.  It is drinking of the new wine.  Your cares fade away, your worries, doubts or fears disappear and your faith rises above the norm.  Some get weak at the knees where your body feels like Jello, others get pumped up as Superman on drugs ready to leap over a building.   Signs and wonders abound to give God the honor and glory.  The Pentecostal experience is not about a denomination but an experience of speaking another language as the Spirit gives you the utterance.  One doesn’t have to call their selves Pentecostal to have this experience.  This experience changes you as you reach out in faith and receive the gift of His promise to all.  Everyone can experience this gift of moving in His Spirit.the experience of God touching your soul

Being in His presence is not a denomination or a religious practice but a relationship established for union. We don’t have to call ourselves anything except “believer”.  A believer will allow His Spirit to reign in their temple of his or her body.  His presence is allowed so it can do the will of the Father by His Spirit to quicken our mortal bodies, to conquer our sinful nature or lust.   His presence provides wisdom when to speak or what to say.  His presence gives way to perfecting the body of Christ and not slander, which hurts and even murders.  His presence gives us the power to speak our world into existence.  We become powerful with His presence and see miracles, love and lives changed.  His presence provides a way to escape temptation and give forgiveness when others do us wrong.

His spirit reflects the character of JesusIn this world there are many who drink to get drunk or to feel good in order to fill a void, to escape reality, to relax yet at the end, either you need more or you feel even empty the more so.  This experience or the drinking of the new wine may go against all traditional background yet it exists in our world.  Being in His presence will bring you into a realm where you never thirst again.

Ephesians 5:18 Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit.

Acts 2:38-39  Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the Holy ghost.  For this promise is to you, to your children and to all who are far off–for all whom the Lord our God will call.

Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.Signs will follow those who believe - healing from prayer

Prayer:  I thank you Lord as I walk and breathe in your spirit, to feel and believe in your presence which lives on the inside of me.  I honor and love you with my entire being to be used for your Kingdom to reach out to others.  I pray others will experience you in a greater measure to become all that you want for your glory.  In Jesus name. Amen

I will never be ashamed of having an experience of getting drunk in your presence.
