Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

your reflection is who you areWhat do you see in the mirror?  Everyday we get up and most of the time you walk right past a mirror.  Everyone wakes up to his or her own reflection.  Either you like what you see or you don’t.  If you do, you’re happy for the rest of the day and if you don’t, then you are unhappy with yourself, which results in unhappiness in life.  Did you know your life is just the reflection of your soul? What goes on in and comes out of your soul is manifested in your life through your actions.  Once you grasp this concept, you can understand it and find out ways to change dramatically.

Many people don’t give much attention to the thought that we are made up of body, soul and spirit.  Our body is the flesh; the outside vehicle will one day decay into the ground. Our soul is our mind and our spirit is our life.  We are a spirit, who has a soul and we live in a body.  We are two-thirds more spiritual than we are fleshly but most people live for the fleshly part (to please the body) more than they do the spiritual side, (soul & spirit) which will live for eternity.   Just like the fact most engaged people put more time into their weddings than they do their pre-marital counseling.  Thus results in a glamorous wedding yet a struggling marriage that ends in divorce because lack of planning. reflection of yourself

Sometimes people wake up to reality and wonder how did they get themselves in such a mess.  When trouble and peace less strikes, people will keep focusing on the problem instead of searching for a solution.  Depression along with other mental issues, debt and poverty stricken and other issues spring up and the mind (soul) takes a beating thus results in not liking what you see in the mirror.

you can change your worldWhen you get up in the morning and take a look in the mirror, you must face the fact that is your reflection, your reflection of your mind.  If your life is a reflection of your thoughts and actions, then you have created yourself!  You create your world; you frame your world by starting with your thoughts and carry them out with your actions.  Once you realize this, it will change the way you look at your life forever.  It is sometimes very painful at first thinking you created all your problems and situations through all your failures.  It is very hard to admit you are in charge of creating your stress in your health or debt issues.  Once you understand it then you also will understand you have the greatest power available.  When you know that you yourself have created this unhappy world, you can turn to the Redeemer of your soul, Jesus Christ.  With His help and His Words to lead us and shape us, we can become a better person through allowing His Spirit to come into our spirit.  This amazing transformation gives us now the power to create our life just the way He wants it.  By allowing Jesus Christ to rule and reign in our thoughts (soul-mind) our actions will be fruitful thus resulting in a life of happiness and victory.  You can look at your life as simply circumstances or blame someone else (which by nature is what we all want to do) but if we take responsibility to creating this thing we see in the mirror daily, then maybe we will take responsibility to change it for a more perfect one.  What you think, you become.  What you think your life is, your life becomes.  It starts with an attitude of humbleness before God and asking for His help.  If you are already a born again believer then the next step is to ask yourself why you are creating your world, or what kind of world are you creating?

Try sitting down and writing out what you want to change in your life or what you want in life.  Post your dreams or your goals of what you want not only for yourself but also for your family.  Keep that posted on your mirror and speak aloud the words daily until it gets into your mind (soul).  This will help keep you focused on the life you want to live.  Remember, you create your world.  Your reflection is who you are.  Focus on what you want to change.  Focus on your strengths!

My husband has always taught me, if you focus on the negative, that is what you will reap, the negative.  If you focus on family, debt, stress or bad relationships, then guess what?  You will continue to have those issues.  If you focus on worry, then you will continue to fear.  However if you focus on trusting God and obeying His word through experiencing it, will result in creating a world you desire.  I am not saying you should ignore the issues without solving them; I am simply stating take responsibility to make a solution.  You can’t continue to ignore debt that you created nor can you ignore your spouse because you can’t get along.  The issues must be solved or you will continue to live in the world you created.

What I have seen most times happen is that Christians get themselves into a world they wish they were not in.  Yes, I did say Christians.  As Christians, we should know the word of God what the Bible says to do and don’t do.  We do know the Bible does have the answers, and that we can pray and know God will answer.  Many people however may know the word, what it says, how it works but never apply it to their lives.  Now that is the key.  Head knowledge and heart applied is two different key results.  Anyone can have head knowledge of knowing what it says, but if we never apply it into our soul and let it be carried out in actions, the enemy steals it away thus resulting in a life we don’t want.  Does all this make sense?  If you are in debt, and that is your main issues of your worry or unhappiness, then God gives you the answers in His Word and that is to be a good steward of what He has given you.  He also tells us to “work”, to provide for your family and it goes on to say, if you don’t work to provide for your needs then you are considered an unbeliever.  To sit back and wait for God to give you a financial blessing just because you prayed for Him to get you out of your mess, it’s simply not going to happen unless you follow His word.  You must put forth the actions of His word not only in your head of knowing it but applying it through experience and action to solve the problem.  I knew a woman one time who took her bills and wrote a prayer on top of the bill and put the bill in a drawer.  The prayer was, “God, I know you will take care of this”.  She stuffed the bill in the drawer expecting God to take care of it and was surprised that the bill collectors kept calling her.  Her electricity would have been turned off unless her husband hadn’t found the bill.  I know this sounds ridiculous but people sometimes think like this.  The problems or bills won’t go away just because you hid them from view or because you created them ignorantly.  Take responsibility.  Take care of your unhappiness.  You frame your world.  Obey His Word in the particular areas you are unhappy in and God will then provide a rescue.  If you have created debt, then you must work to get out of it.  Jesus Christ died on a cross for us, not to be a slave of getting us out of our messes we have created.  However, His grace and mercy endures forever and He will supply the strength to get through life’s situations in which we create.  If you continue to “just wait on God” without showing action to His word, then you will continue to live in the world you have created.  God expects us to obey His word with actions which prove our faith in Him.  How can He show you that He will answer if you don’t show faith by works.   If you don’t show actions of the word, then how can God give you your answer?  Apply head knowledge to your soul.  What is in your soul (mind) is what will bring forth into action.

You can create your life you want with the help of Jesus Christ.  He came to give us life and life more abundant.  You can choose how you want to live your life because it is you who sees your reflection in the mirror.

James 1:23-25 For if anyone hears the word but is not obedient to it, he is like a man who looks at himself in a mirror and studies himself carefully, and then goes off and immediately forgets what he looks like. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Mere hearers are self-deceivers.

Hebrew 1:3  He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact likeness of his being, and he holds everything together by his powerful word.

Be a reflection of Jesus Christ by obeying his word.  Create your world by putting on Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 8:12  I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find the knowledge which cometh of reflection.

His wisdom makes all truly happy who receive it in the love of Christ Jesus. Seek him early, seek Him earnestly, and seek Him before any thing else. Those who love Christ, are such as have seen his loveliness, and have had his love shed abroad in their hearts; therefore they are happy. They shall be happy in this world.

2 Corinthians 3:18 As all of us reflect the Lord’s glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Create your world

Let the word of truth be carefully attended to, and it will set before us the corruption of our spirit, soul and body, the disorders of our hearts and lives; and it will tell us plainly what we are. In hearing the word, we look into it for counsel and direction, and when we study it, it turns to our spiritual life, which last for eternity. Those who keep the word of God, are, and shall be, blessed in all their ways. This will be connected with his present peace and comfort. Every part of Divine revelation has its use, in bringing us to salvation, and in directing and encouraging us to walk at liberty, by the Spirit. You have the power to live on top of the world or under the world because it is you who created your world……are you on top or underneath?

reflectionYou are what you see in your reflection and if needs to be changed, now is the day to do it.
