When he was a little boy, he had a plan to be successful. Although he played with all the other boys his main desire just like all boys was mostly to please his father. Even at the age of twelve he had a desire to see and act upon his vision for his future. Life continued yet he stays focused on the determination to be successful. He had a plan and timing was very important.
Who was this boy I am referring to? Jesus. He was willing to give up everything he had to become successful. His definition of success was to do the will of God. He sought it from his childhood, and kept at it. He used his plan of success as a compass, his focus, his direction and his final prayer. He defined this success before He began. If we are not clear about what true success looks like, how will we know when we get there? If you want success in your life, you must define what success means to you.
Success is not just making money and lots of it. Money is a by-product of the focus or vision in being a child of God. People should not work to get money, they should channel amounts of energy into areas that interest them that God has gifted them with and money comes as a product of loving and intense focus. Jesus repeatedly told us that if we seek first the kingdom of God, ALL else will be added unto us. Meaning money is not our focus but seeking the will of the Father should be. There is joy we experience whe we align our will, our work, and our talents with those of our Creator. Jesus didn’t work for money yet God supplied all of His needs. Why? Because He was His son. We are God’s children and yes we have to work in this life to live day to day, however I have seen many people struggle just to get by because their focus or determination to be successful was making money, not serving God. I have also seen people be successful in money yet their family life, peace of mind and joy was not prominent.
Christ is to be the Savior of all and He will reward those who seek and serve Him and He also will provide well for those whom He call His children.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
To be successful in this life is to be in right standing with God, follow after peace and obtain joy through allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into holiness. Now that is how you define success!
