Head Above the Clouds

head above cloudsLiving in a fallen and broken world it is no wonder that sometimes we feel overwelmed by the powers of darkness.  When we are at the point of despair, ready to throw in the towel, we sometimes do well to fight the faith and keep moving forward.  Being a Pastor’s wife doesn’t make mean that I don’t struggle sometimes too.  Life has thrown us many curve balls and there have been times where I too would like to live without insanity or chaos that sometimes comes our way.  When we sometimes feel overwhelmed by the times around us it is then in which we realize it is not our own strength that keeps us going.  In our weakness, He is strong.  However when this feeling begins to creep over my mind, I must remember not to give in.  We must stay focused and we must not get distracted to the great task and purpose God has called each one of us to do.  When you have no expectations you won’t be disappointed, however the negative will always try and rule.  Expectations of God moving is accepting the fact sometimes bad things happen to help us totally to rely on Him even the more.  If nothing negative came our way, I would be afraid not too many people would lean on Him in this life.  The trouble with living among this world, it sometimes makes us see God living in the realm above us and not with us.  Oh it is so easy for us to forget when situations arise in the midst of trouble.  Have you ever heard the saying, “When it rains, it pours”?  It sometimes seem like a snowball effect increasing in such a way, we say, “What now? or When is it going to end?”.  When this happens, it is then we must know God is up to work to bring Himself glory and turn the negative situation into something good.  God gives us the ability to respond, the choice to respond for His glory, and the choice to choose His way, His strength and not our own.  Genuine relationships are marked by submission.  If circumstances in our life happened not because of choices we have made but because of the nature of others, then we must submit ourselves in the hands of God to let him work out situations for the good.  It is when we try and control the situations, life gets really tough because God didn’t create us to bear the burden of holding on to everything.  He wants us to trust in Him, and He wants to carry that burden for us.  When God does not take away our troubles or situations that cause us heartache, He still gives us grace enough to make it through even though we may feel like He is not doing anything to relieve our pain at the current moment.    Grace signifies the good-will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten and enliven us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. This is how His grace is manifested and magnified. When we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; when we feel that we are weak in ourselves, then we go to Jesus, receive strength from Him, and enjoy most the supplies of Divine strength and grace.  Keep your head up and don’t just look around you but look who is walking with and living IN you.  Know that with God all things are possible!  Keep your head above the clouds and you won’t care about the storm that is going on around your feet.

Let us hold on to the fact that good will triumph over evil in the end, that one day we will see our Redeemer face to face and reign with Him forever.

2 Corinthians 12:10  Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

  1. I randomly came across your blog and decided to take a look……as per your post, I guess ‘It Is Not Random’. In addition to the many uplifting messages you have written, I really like the visual design and professional look of your blog.
