Have you ever woke up one morning and felt God urging or pressing you to do something? There have been times when He urges me along with an insisting pressure that I follow through with something such as a small note of encouragement, a phone call or a visit. Sometimes He asks me to perform an act of service or secretly give something to someone. Many times we sit around and wonder why all of a sudden did that person come to mind since I haven’t seen or heard from them in years. Maybe is a way that God uses us to pray or follow through with action. God has a way of connecting His children to enhance the Kingdom. I know when I receive a note or a message from someone like this example, I will smile and know it is God’s little nudging that prompted them and they followed through. Not only did it bless me but also blessed them as well.
Ideas are constantly rattling around in our heads to do something or call someone. We often dismiss it as a concept from our own mind thinking instead of a God thing. Can you imagine how the body of Christ could grow if everything we put into action with eternal possibilities behind it would affect our world? To figure out whether or not your impressions are nudges from God practice paying attention to them when they come and talk to God whether or not to carry them out. Of course you want to rule out any idea that would lead to sin and it is important that it lines up with Scripture and truth. Don’t limit your blessings by not following through. Be an encourager today, spread the love of Jesus Christ, share the joy and peace, and give hope to those who are weak. The next time you feel impressed to drop me a note, you might just get a small note of encouragement back!
True believing is not an act of the understanding only, but a work of the whole heart. Faith is the root, good works are the fruits; and we must see to it that we have both.
James 2:20 Faith without works is dead.
Hebrews 3:13 On the contrary encourage one another, day after day, so long as To-day lasts, so that not one of you may be hardened through the deceitful character of sin.
