Abundant life, Encouragement

Value of a Price

shoppingI love shopping!  What girl doesn’t love to go shopping?  When I do have the extra money to go shopping, I glance down the roll to see if something catches my eye.  Then I take my hand and feel of the material.  I like weird and unusal things to wear or should I say different.  It never fails, I can go into an outlet store, find one thing that catches my eye, walk over to it with a wow then look at the price tag.  My balloon is popped when I see the price is far more than I wish to pay.  Thrifty shopper yes, but not willing to pay the price for something so different.  I always pick out the most expensive thing in the store with just one glance.  I think it is a curse.  When you travel to a big city, and look at designer clothes, the price is unbelievable for this Kentucky gal.  I thought one hundred dollars was expensive for a pair of jeans but how about a eight hundred or a couple thousand for a handbag or shirt?  Value?  It is the name that holds the value.  Although the Pashmina scarf may be twelve hundred dollars, I found that quite interesting, it wasn’t worth that to me nor the value I was willing to pay.  I didn’t care it was imported or how it was made, I just thought it looked good.  It will get dirty just like the scarf from TJMax and other people will not be able to tell it’s worth.   What does the word value mean to you?  In the dictionary it is defined as a fair return, or equivalent in goods, or services for money in exchange for something or the worth or importance of.

Do you know how much God values you?

God made us in His image or likeness, the first sign of the value he places on us. No other creature on earth is made in the image of God. The second notice of the value God places on us is that he placed people over all creatures on earth.  We are important to God!
God made us with great ability and skill. He crafted us with loving care even knowing who we would be or become before we were even born.  He showed how much value he places on us by the way he made us in the sense of trusting us as we trust Him.
Almighty God thinks wonderful thoughts about us all the time. He looks inside of us and sees our real value regardless what value you feel about yourself.  God values you so much that he watches over you no matter where you are or what you are doing.  He is sitting right beside you right now. This truly is wonderful, too wonderful to believe yet it is true. God thinks you are very special. God cares about everything we do because he loves us so much in ways we sometimes forget.

God values you so much that he even allows your body to become a temple in which he lives. God does not need to live in you. He can live anywhere. But by choosing to live within you, he declares you his temple, his dwelling place for others to see Him.  God can do anything yet He chooses to do it through you. What a great value he places on you to do that!
God values you so much that he thinks of you as his child.
God promises to be with us always; why would he want to be with us if he didn’t value us?

sparrowsMatthew 10:30-31  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not for you are more valuable than many sparrows.

And it is great encouragement to those who are doing Christ’s work and it is a work which will certainly be done. God’s love and care extends to all creatures, even to the sparrows. We should not fear anyone or anything because Jesus tells us we are of more value than many sparrows and the very hairs of your head are all numbered. God takes and keeps of his people. It is our duty, not only to believe in Christ, but to profess that faith, in suffering for him, when we are called to it, as well as in serving him. The relationship we have with God is worth every thing; all who believe the truth of it, will come up to the price, and make every thing else yield to it. Jesus will lead us through sufferings, to glory with him. Those are best prepared for the life to come are those who endure this present life. Let us boldly confess Jesus and His name to others, and show love to him in all things or acts. Take no thought for your life. Not about the length of it; but refer it to God to lengthen or shorten it as he pleases; our times are in his hand. Take no thought for tomorrow, for the time will quickly come. Be not anxious for the future for it is in God and God has given us life, and has given us the body. If we take care about our souls and for eternity, which are more than the body and its life, we may leave it to God to provide for us food and raiment, which are less. Improve this as an encouragement to trust in God. Thoughtfulness for our souls is the best cure of thoughtfulness for the world. Seek first the kingdom of God, and make the relationship with Jesus important. The conclusion of the whole matter is, that it is the will and command of the Lord Jesus, that by daily prayers we may get strength to bear us up under our daily troubles, and to arm us against the temptations that attend them, and then let none of these things move us. Happy are those who take the Lord for their God, and make full proof of it by trusting themselves wholly to His love. Let His Spirit convince us of sin and take away the worldliness of our hearts.

value of a soulLet us remember, God values us so much, He sent His son Jesus Christ to pay for us.  Now that is a price with value!
