Abundant life, Encouragement

My Light Shines On

Have you ever been in a dark room and lit a candle?  What was total darkness, now the room comes to life with the light.  The more the light, the more clearly you can see.  When your eyes are exposed to light in sudden, it sometimes hurts and takes adjusting to.  When you walk into a dark room, it may have furniture there, however you may not see it because of the darkness. Just because you can’t see the furniture doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  Light must expose the hidden things.  It is the same with God.  Many things are hidden while a person walks into darkness but once you get a hold of the light (Jesus) then the hidden things will began to appear.    His light shines not only for the person holding the light but also it gleans the way for those who are around him.

Life throws us many challenges but nothing stands in the way of what God wants to do and the light He shines through us.   It doesn’t stop us or the work of what God is going to do through me or through my brothers and sisters in the church or body of believers.  Every time the enemy tries to put up a roadblock, it only makes us more determined to shine on through the tangled up darkness of man.  The faithful are called light, both because they have the true light in them which enlightens them, and also because they give light to others, insomuch that their honest conversation reproves the life of wicked men.  In the Bible it speaks of many promises of who we are and what God has planned for us.  We are to be open to the sight of men, we must be an example and praiseworthy for others to follow.  As Christians we live in glass houses.  What a better way to shine for we are not hid under a basket but for all to see!  We all must aim at the glory of God.  I am the light of the world and so are you.  We are a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hid. Our light must shine, by doing such good works as men may see and glorify our Father which is in heaven.  We are to walk as children of light proving what is acceptable to God, not to man.  We are to shine in this dark and ugly world to bring glory to God, not to man.  We are children of light and the children of day; we are not of the night nor of darkness nor of bad attitudes with judgmental religious standards.  As children of the day, we are to be of right mind, putting on faith and love along with salvation no matter what circumstances come our way.  The circumstances might not always be pleasant but through the grace of God, He carries us through the mire.  The working of God’s grace in us is to quicken and engage our endeavors. God’s good will to us is the cause of his good work in us. Do your duty without murmurings. Do it, and do not find fault with it. Mind your work, and do not quarrel with it. Return an offence with peace. The children of God should differ from the sons of men. Our God owns everything and gives us access to the Kingdom for we are His sons and daughters.  What father wouldn’t share everything in His Kingdom with his children?  We should always show the example of God toward others in love and unity and be that very example of Jesus Christ.  The more perverse others are, the more careful we should be to keep ourselves blameless and harmless. The doctrine and example of consistent believers will enlighten others, and direct their way to Christ and holiness. Let us shine! The gospel is the word of life; it makes known to us eternal life through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to man to be saved.  His name is above all names and His name is Jesus.  Our light shows running, denotes earnestness and vigor, continual pressing forward and laboring, denotes constancy.  It is the will of God that believers should be rejoicing; and those who are so happy as to have good ministers, have great reason to rejoice with them.  Again, I say, “My light shines on!”

John 1:4  In him was life, and that life brought light to humanity.

John 10:10  The thief came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give life and give it in abundance.

II Corinthians 9:8  God is able to make all grace abound toward you so you will always have sufficiency in all things and that you abound in every good work.
