When people have hurt our family, I have to say “Thank You”. Thanks for saying all the appalling things you have said with the accusations, the cursing, the swearing, the gossip, and slander. You may think it is funny that I would say such a thing, but all of it teaches us many things. First of all, yes it does hurt when people come against you, your children or your ministry. We have been accused of swindling money to drug dealing. I believe some want to defame than to actually know the truth. I have to laugh because I know the full understanding of a person’s heart when they love to talk and indict. However, it only makes us stronger because we lean upon the One and only who fights our battles for us, Jesus Christ. If God be for us who can be against us? There have been times where I have been so mad and wanted to fire back, yet my husband in a calm voice says, “We don’t have to fight that battle, truth always prevails in the end, fruit always shows.” It is only a distraction to keep our focus off of the ministry of what God has for us to do. It is only a seed from the enemy to grasp a stronghold in your mind to tear you down in who you are in Christ. It is also funny that most of the time we find out who and what people say about us. They want to talk to others, puke on others their negative issues and thoughts about the “preacher” then think everyone is going to like being around them afterwards. When this happens they find themselves lonely and isolated and without peace.
I use to tell the boys as they were growing up, “You may try to hide your sins, think no one knows, but your sin will always find you out”. It has been my motto for years even though they hated it. So, if it is true what the gossiper has spoken of us, then eventually it would be manifested for all to see because sin only last for a season. Most of the time, the exact same people who want to spout off about something are the ones calling on us to help or encourage them down the road and we do because we have the Father’s heart. When we are cut up with words, yes we are wounded and it leaves scars but I have to say, it teaches us patience with people, it teaches us unconditional love, it teaches us mercy and grace. We have endured through it all where we can face anyone without feeling guilty or anger. Forgiveness is a big issue with some, and yes it is a touchy subject when dealing with past hurts, nevertheless, when Jesus is in control of your life, He takes complete control. Our arms are always open and bridges are never burnt. Past sins or failures are done away with. Although the instances may not be forgotten, yet it is smoothed with healing balm. Time heals everything. It is a shame, cause when people get blood in their mouth after chewing on a man of God, they find it hard to forgive and they themselves live captured in the snare of the enemy. We all are human beings; we all are not perfect just forgiven. We don’t have to fight the battles because Jesus Christ has already won.
Matthew 12: 35-37 A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, brings forth good things: and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, brings forth evil things. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, By your words you will be declared innocent, or by your words you will be declared guilty.”
Your words as well as actions shall he produced in evidence for or against you, to prove whether you was a true believer or not. Jealousy, covetousness, lust and corruptions, dwelling and reigning in the heart will bring out evil fruit. This communication brings forth bad words and actions, to dishonor God, and hurt others. Let us keep constant watch over ourselves so we may speak words acceptable to the Christian character. I Chronicles 16:22 Come not against Mine anointed ones, And against My prophets do not evil.
For in the end, the gavel speaks.
