I have always heard, “the things you dislike about someone, is the very same thing you do without realizing it”. Ouch, that hurt. Think about some actions in which you can’t stand about a particular person. It could be personality traits, judgement attitudes, manipulation, sowing discord, or just plain talking too much. I have seen it so many times, people want to really downgrade a person they may come in contact with on a daily or weekly basis, point out all their faults to others when in fact they themselves repeat the same action in the majority of time without knowing they too preform the same exact action.
When I get cranky or really want to let someone know about a particular action, (in which I think is wrong), I check myself and see if I am preforming the very same action in which I am detesting. Usually, I am. Reality check! It is called rotten fruit and it is usually puked up on someone else. I am sure my husband has came home a few times and as soon as he walked through the door, I puked on him. When people puke on you enough, you will avoid them altogether. Who wants to be puked on with the negativity and bad mouthing about someone else? It is having a judgmental, or criticizing attitude.
Luke 6:41-45 “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye . Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye. For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good ; and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringsforth what is evil ; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
Think about your fruit and what are you producing. What have you said lately about someone? You are thinking right now, “No I do not do that!” but if you search deep enough, yes you do. Yes, you may be a Christian and yes you are trying to say and do the right things and produce good fruit. God is still working on your heart. Stop looking at your brother or sister and pointing to their faults that irritates you so great. The irritations is coming from your own eye. Get out the chain saw and chop out your log in your own eye first, then you can help others. Then you will find others wanting to enjoy your company and spend time with you without all the regurgitating mess.
